The picture above is the 2009 Times Square ball which is illuminated with 32256 Philips LUXEON LEDS. The ball weighs 12000 pounds, is 12 feet in diameter, covered with 2668 Waterford crystals and consumes no more energy per hour than two home ovens. A color controller coordinates the colors and color patterns.
